Job Summary:
 
Fessler and Bowman’s Superintendent will be responsible for supervising and scheduling all concrete activities at a given job site, making sure jobs are being completed on time and on budget, and ensuring quality and safety requirements are being met.
 
Superintendent’s perform a variety of duties, including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Supervising all aspects of the job site, including safety and quality standards
  • Communicate with owners and owner’s representatives on a consistent basis
  • Resolve conflicts and disputes to minimize delays and claims
  • Instruct field staff on the processes, policies, and procedures essential to the project
  • Plan and supervise the field activities, such as the method of construction, manpower, material quantities, equipment and schedules
  • Working up extra cost proposals for the project team on existing work
  • Continually expanding knowledge and use of industry best practices and innovation
  • Solving problems, as they arise, by using available knowledge and resources
  • Understand and apply the Company’s labor relations policies
  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team
  • All other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in training and experience
  • At least five (5) years in concrete or heavy civil construction
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
 
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Works in both the office and field settings on a regular basis
  • Requires ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time
  • Field work make include adverse weather, loud working conditions, and high levels of activity
 
Classification & Compensation
  • The position is full-time, salaried and exempt (from FLSA overtime requirements)
  • The salary range varies, depending on experience, skills, abilities, and length of service with the Company
  • This position is eligible for the Company’s discretionary profit sharing program
